Gradients you can reuse everywhere
Open Settings → Colors → Color profiles.
A color profile is a named gradient — multiple color stops you can plug into effects and layers instead of picking one random hue at a time.
Build one by hand
- Add profile or pick an existing row.
- Drag stops on the gradient bar, or type hex values if you’re picky.
- Give it a name you’ll recognize in effect dropdowns.

Type a short mood — “midnight rain”, “sunset beach”, “lawyer office” (we’ve seen worse) — and click Generate profile. RGBJunkie builds a multi-stop gradient from online color lookup when it can, or a built-in palette when you’re offline.
Each profile can keep a phrase field so you can regenerate later if you want a fresh take.
Use profiles in effects
Lots of effects (Fan Tracer layers, and plenty of others) have a color profile dropdown. Pick your gradient instead of a single color or a rainbow sweep.
Still seeing a rainbow after you picked a profile? Double-check it’s selected on the right layer in that effect’s settings — easy to miss.
Profiles vs calibration
Calibration (Settings → Colors → Calibration) fixes hardware that lies about red and green. Profiles are the fun creative part — they don’t fix a tinty strip on their own. See Troubleshooting — wrong colors.
